Great service and staff

The staff here are so lovely. Every time I have been for the the baby weigh, baby/ toddler weekly groups or to ask for help printing and with membership they are helpful and polite. It’s a very welcoming space with a cosy children’s area.

Fantastic place to spend time. What makes it perfect are the super-friendly staff. Plenty of reading and activities going on for kids all the time, just check in and see what's happening. They may not have enough space for a huge variety of books, but ask and you will receive! They can get many many books through the inter-library loan, and you've got enough there to last a lifetime. There are also a few books for sale outside!

Very helpful staff

Clean and welcoming. Many new books. Computers and printers now available again for public use. Children doing a craft project in the kids section happily chatting with librarian in charge of that session. Staff socially distanced but approachable. A great place for books, daily papers and films.

The arranged collection service for books at Okehampton Library is exceptionally safe and well run. My partner Penny Nobles and I are avid readers and this service has helped our well being during this lock down. A very big thank you to all the staff who have been supportive when contacted to choose books and provide the collection service.

Our first visit since pre-lockdown today. Easy to understand one-way system. All staff wearing masks. Helpful assistant on the door gave us intructions before entering and another member of staff helped my son find some books from his list and choose some similar books from other authors. Came away feeling glad that we'd visited. Updated to add that we enjoy our weekly Saturday morning visits, staff are always ready to help. Reserving and volleying books is a breeze!

As the library has just reopened after lockdown, it appears to be well laid out with a very good one way system that is well marked out. Well done to the very nice staff who work there.

A great local facility. The staff are excellent - always on hand and extremely helpful. Although the library operates on a limited budget and in a limited space there's always a changing variety of books and other printed material on offer and remember you can reserve books that you want to read that aren't on the shelves from their online system . On top of this the smaller services such as printing, photocopying and scanning are practical and useful. I love this space and recommend more members of the local community to use it and support it!
